One often seen problem is the blockage of lubrication oil lines, with the resulting back pressure evenly distributed across the other oil lines. This causes only a slight pressure increase in the overall oil recirculation circuit, which is generally not enough to trigger an alarm. The result is, that the machine may run for long periods with little or no lubrication of moving components.

For this application, any number of lubrication lines can be equipped with PROGNOST®-NT Lubrication Monitoring sensors to monitor the flow rate, tailored to customer requirements. These sensors are ideally located near the injector to get information about injected lubrication quantities. The flow rate of the individual lubrication points is monitored by trend analysis and changes become visible very early.

Blockages or leakages can be identified before they cause component failure, thereby helping to prevent costly – and avoidable – machinery damage.
