2nd PROGNOST Systems Userforum was a complete success

More than 50 participants attended the 2nd PROGNOST Systems Userforum in the second week of February. The first contacts between the machine operators from Europe, Middle East and Asia where established in course of the evening pre-event. The first event day was headlined “Machine Protection” and started with the bus transfer to the venue – a monastery in the region Münsterland.

Within some 30 minutes presentations, the customers out of the gas-, petrochemical- and refining industry outlined which damages were predicted successfully by the use of PROGNOST®. The interesting presentations of Clariant, SASOL and E.ON which consisted of very special contents, started lively discussions. The first day ended with the presentation “Hyper Compressor Risk Assessment and SIL Classification" by LyondellBasell. Two simultaneous translators made it easy for everyone possible to follow the presentations and discussions, which were held in multiple languages. The first day ended with an pleasant evening in Rheine downtown, including some magic moments.
“Early Failure Detection” was the focus of the second day. The early detection of emerging damages is one of the unique feature of the PROGNOST® system. The case studies of BP Rotterdam, TOTAL Netherlands and Formosa Plastics showed the capabilities a up-to-date monitoring system provides. After that Skip Morrison (PROGNOST Inc.) presented the 5th edition of the API 670 and reported from the working groups “Condition Monitoring” and “Safety Integrity Level (SIL)” in which PROGNOST Systems plays an active role. An open discussion “Safety limits for new machines – the tension triangle of OEM, EPC and operators” concluded the official program.
The next PROGNOST Systems Userforum (April 22, 2010) takes place in Houston, Texas.
